Summer Production Holiday in Portugal
Order Cut-Off Dates
European Holidays are near
As usual, our production team in Portugal take their summer holidays in August and our production ceases for a short time. This is typical across Europe and something I wish we adopted more. It would be lovely if the whole country were off at the same time.
Production will be closed on the following dates
12th August to 30th August Inclusive.
Portugal will still send garments up until the last date they operate, therefore I expect us to receive garments up until around the 16th of August. They will start to send upon their return to work on the 2nd Sept with receipt to us around the 6th September.
ORDER CUT-OFF DATES
To ensure garments are despatched from Portugal prior to the summer shutdown please have your garments ordered by the following dates:
House Fabrics: 15th of July
Merchant fabrics: 5th of July
House fabrics are those kept in stock in Portugal. This means we can make them quicker and our cut-off is slightly later. We complement our house cloth with cloth ordered from merchants (such as Loro Piana, Drago, Dugdale etc) which gives us a much wider range of choices but adds around a week to delivery whilst the cloth is shipped to Portugal.

Express Service
We will still continue to offer our express service. There is a capacity for this service so If this is something you need please get in contact to discuss. As always we will endeavour to help as much as possible.
Cloth Merchant Holidays
The summer holidays are a prevalent feature across the continent and a lot of our merchants do take some time off (lucky so and so’s). This time off hasn’t yet been confirmed to us but normally affects the Italian merchants Drago, Loro Piana, Drapers, Reda and Cacciopoli.
These holidays are a common occurrence in the summer holidays and something we manage each year. If you have any queries please don’t hesitate to contact us.
